I’m Kristin, a globetrotting mom of two with a heart for helping other moms find joy in living overseas with kids.

Whether you’re a military spouse, an embassy employee, an expat, or a missionary mom —

— it can be HARD to raise kids overseas away from family and friends and everything that is familiar.

It’s taken me some time to find my happy place in a life lived out of suitcases and exhaustion — and, let me tell you, it’s still a work in progress!

You can read more about my Journey to Joy as a mom here.

I am passionate about helping and connecting with other moms on this journey.  My goal is to encourage and inspire you and {hopefully} make things just a bit easier for you too!

You can check out recipes that taste just like home, find ways to live the natural life (even overseas!), get tips on traveling with kids, or try out fun and easy projects.

I’d love for you to connect with me and share this wild ride that is life because…

…we don’t have to do it alone!

A snapshot of me:

  • I was homeschooled for three years in elementary school.  It was probably one of the best things my parents did for me and drastically changed the trajectory of my life.  In one year I went from almost being suspended for fighting to being a dreamy-eyed book lover.  Thanks Mom and Dad!
  • I love the adventure of traveling, sights unseen, walking up one more hill to see what’s on the other side.  I hate flying.
  • I have two kids — my daughter Pumpkin who just turned 4 and my son Buddy who just turned 2.
  • I have made major life decisions based on a hunch or a dream — sometimes you just gotta be crazy!
  • I am VERY introverted — meaning I need a LOT of time by myself to recharge — but because I am outgoing and a talker with a capital T, you might not know it!
  • Someday I’d like to go to Jerusalem and walk where Jesus walked.  Someday, I’m also going to meet Jesus face-to-face.  I plan on giving him a big hug and then asking him about a zillion and half questions.
  • BuddyMy sister and I made up a “secret” language with each other when we were little.  I heart my sister.
  • Even though I’m not really a “baby-person”, I am a natural nurturer and just LOVE making people comfortable, getting them what they need, and helping them feel like they aren’t alone.  I guess that’s one of the big reasons I’m writing this blog!
  • I love cats.  And chocolate.  And the sound of the wind in the trees.  And reading fantasy novels. And essential oils…ok I’m going to stop!  There are a lot of things I love 🙂
  • I wrote my first novel at age 8 about a talking dove.
  • I’ve been married to my amazing husband — who clearly God designed just for me — for almost 10 incredible years!

Thank you for stopping by!
