15 safe summer scents for your home

Summer Scent

I love scenting my house with beautiful fragrances, but when I learned about the toxic petrochemicals that most air fresheners and candles are made with, I knew I needed to find something safer to use around my kids (and myself!)

Thankfully a friend turned me on to Young Living essential oils.  I bought their Premium Starter Kit, which comes with a diffuser and voila, I was in business again!

In case you’re wondering what a diffuser is — it’s a like a humidifier, but specially designed to break any mixture of essential oils and water into millions of microparticles, and disperse them into the air.

My home diffuser from Young Living will fill the whole bottom floor of my house with safe, refreshing scents for 3 hours with just a few drops of essential oils.

Today I’m sharing some of my favorite summer oil blends to use in a diffuser…

Some of them I’ve tried and love and some of them I can’t wait to try (and hey if those candle companies can give them fun names, so can I)!

If you haven’t tried essential oils before you may be surprised by how some of these smell.  They are the real deal, not factory-made chemical fragrances.  I smelled a “lavender” candle the other day and would have never guessed it was lavender if I hadn’t read the label.

If you’d like to give essential oils a try in your home, check out my essential oil page, which has plenty of information to get you started!

If you’re already using essential oils, I’d love to hear what you think about my blends and your favorite summer diffuser blends.

Happy Diffusing!

Oh wow! Thanks so much for these wonderful scent combinations. I have already started trying one. I just love these essential oils and can understand why they are called essential! They have a stronger scent than other oils I have purchased. I am so happy for your guidance in choosing them.
